3 Ways to Maximize Your Business Productivity
As is the case in any business where you manage your own clients, it’s extremely important to stay organized when it comes to developing and executing your real estate business strategy. Getting started as an agent can be difficult, mostly because there are so many moving parts that you have to coordinate in order to run a successful listing campaign. I’ve put together a list of my top 3 pieces of advice to follow to make sure that you are maximizing your potential for making money and obtaining clients. If you’d prefer to learn about my techniques via video, check out a video I made about this very topic on my Youtube channel!
1) Develop a Strategy and Be Dedicated to Doing It Now It is much easier to maximize your productivity and execute a strategy when you have a well-developed plan for the steps you’re going to take to accomplish your goals. This means taking the time to sit down and actually plan out each step of your campaign to make sure that nothing falls through the cracks and you’ve covered all of your bases. I recommend creating a system that works for you – maybe it means deciding that you’ll take two hours every Thursday to plan out the following week’s schedule, checklist and game plan for tackling your listings in an organized way. Whatever system you decide to put in place, make sure that you stick to it and start checking off those boxes as soon as possible – after two weeks, your new system will become a habit that is simply second nature to you.
2) Be Flexible and Open Minded To paraphrase Charlie Parker, the great Jazz Saxophonist, if you want to speak the language, first you have to learn the alphabet. Once you’ve developed your strategy, you’ll have a greater understanding of the parameters that you’ll be working inside of and the ways in which you can bend your own rules if you have to. The real estate industry is always changing – new listings crop up each day, new opportunities are always just around the corner, and you need to make sure that you are staying flexible and open minded when it comes to seizing the moment and pivoting direction if the occasion calls for it. Of course, there is a difference between flying by the seat of your pants and making the executive decision to take a different tack in order to solve a problem. If you have a solid foundation for the way you’d like your campaign to run, then you’ll have an easier time switching tactics to accomplish your goal within the scheme of that foundation.
3) Educate Yourself Weekly Don’t expect to become an expert in the real estate industry overnight. If you want to become a Million Dollar Producer, you have to first empower yourself with knowledge. I strongly believe that education is the key to confidence, which is the key to success. I personally read one real estate book per month to expand my horizons and clue me in to what other people in my industry are doing. After I’ve collected all of this information, I can then apply the tips that strike a chord in me to my own business practices, and new information helps keep me focused and generating ideas for my own strategies that I wouldn’t be able to think of if I wasn’t actively seeking out other perspectives on the work that I do. These are only 3 of the steps that you can take to keep yourself on the straight and narrow. Always remember to keep your eye on the prize – I hope my advice benefits you and your endeavors, and, as always, please feel free to check out my YouTube Channel, my website and sign up for my weekly newsletter for much more information about how to succeed in real estate.
